H pipe or X pipe
Ok here's whats going on, i want my exaust to be louder and i want to gain some hp in the process too. Has anybody put an H or X pipe on their F-150? If so how well did it work. my mustang buddies they say that putting on an X or H pipe made a big difference in their cars. Now, i know about the O2 sensors but i dont know what they will do when hooked up to something different than the cats. Oh yeah any ideas on headers...just how difficult are they to install? any ideas??? Thanks.

I have a 4.6 and I had true duals put on with 26" glasspacks straight out the back. I originally did not have an "H" pipe, but did lose some lowend. I went back and had an "H" pipe installed just before the glasspacks, and did gain back the lowend, but it didn't do too much to the sound. If anything, in went to a slightly lower tone, but barely recognizable.
Hope this helps...

I have the same thing as polaris but I have 18 inch glasspacks instead. I didn't lose any lowend. If anything I gained more lowend.

Martin63- The X or H pipes goes on after the multi-cat setup. The cats are close to the exhaust manifold/head pipe. The pipes have to come down further to be crossed over. The X design is more efficient, but requires more skill from the exhaust technician to curve all 4 pipes leading to/from it.

Where does she work? I'm in the 92MS. Do you have a picture or your truck online? If not, what does it look like?.
