Just had a glasspack installed on my truck today. I like it quite a bit. Had a local, very reputable shop do the work and they installed a higher end glasspack. The manager said to avoid the glasspacks from the parts store as they are really cheap and will only last a short time. After looking at the construction of these I would have to agree with him. I originally wanted to run a custom built cat back with dual exits, one on each side at the stock position and angle. It appeared this wouldnt be very easy to do on the drivers side, the spare tire and the rubber boot covering the shock would be in the way a little. No big thang really, I just want some more V8 sound. WEnt with a 26" single glasspack instead and it sounds really mellow. Nice rumble while pushin on the loud pedal and virutally unnoticable in the cab at idle. Cost me $56 and about 25 minutes time with no appt. Lookin back I might choose to get a little smaller pack to get some more sound but this is good for me!

Jeff, what kind of glasspack did you go with?
i'm looking to get a more 'vintage' v8 sound and glasspacks seem to be a great value.

 

go with a cherry bomb glasspack that has 2 be the best i ever saw

I have dual exhaust with 1 18 inch glasspack on each pipe. You can barely hear it when at idle but when I press the gas it sounds great and I can still hear the radio. Check this out. My truck sounds about the same.

wewee!! Gotta love that sound King James!! Almost makes me wanna take that 26" off and go down to an 18". I like it I love it I want some more of it!! wbat kind of glasspack? Almost sounds like a Thrush that you broke all up inside to make it crackle.
