Question Header Install

I have ordered some Pacesetter ceramic coated shorty headers for my '99 F-150 5.4L and was wondering if anybody out there has installed headers on a truck similar to this. I don't want to get myself into a big mess, however, I don't feel like paying $200 for a shop to install them. Thanks.

Have not performed a header install on an f150, but having installed headers on a musclecar I used to own, I know they can become a serious test of a man's patience (and I would not consider a GM A-body to be a particularly hard vehicle to put headers on)
I took a quick look under the hood of my f150 and it looks like the driver side would not be too bad, but the passenger side looks like it may be a little hairy. I do not doubt you could do it yourself, just take it slow and be careful. However, $200 for a shop to install them sounds pretty cheap as far as shops go (as long as it is a reputable shop). Sometimes a $200 can save you a bunch in headaches and frusteration. (Been there many-a-time).

hopefully some of the other guys who have installed headers can give you some pointers and some recommendations.

Hi HOSRACN
I have those same headers on my 2000 F150 5.4. My brother and I installed headers on truck.
The drivers side went on no problem, just make sure you loosen up on steel pipe on top of intake going to header.
The passenger side we had to take off starter to install one bolt next to bellhousing on bottom also had a hard time to tighten that one bolt.
It took us six hours to install headers.
I hope this helps you.
