Exclamation Get a load of this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday I let a buddy of mine drive my truck(y2k f150xl 4x4 4.2) He owns a 99 f150 xlt 5.4 excab 4x4.After driving it he says" bot your exhaust sound a lot throater and meaner than mine".Keep in mind that both our trucks have stock mufflers. I think sure, whatever, he must be high or something. So we take his truck for a spin. And low and behold that 5.4 sounded real weak compared to my 4.2. Guess it goes to show that how the truck sounds doesn't always mean how it will perform.(when we race, he wins every time)

Thumbs up

I agree because I just traded my 98 XL,4.2,5sp,4x4,standard cab for a 2001 xlt,4.6,5sp,4x4,SC. I could only hear the 4.6 when it got close to 3000 RPM. On 11/22/00 I had a Flowmaster Single in single out installed and now I can hear it!

Talking

I just came back here after posting the other day, sure don't mind at all. The only drawback is that I spend about 10 of 12 months out on the road, with my truck.
I'll be home for six weeks starting on Jan
15th or so,we could set something up then if you want. I was saying on a post the other day that aside from the boards,I
don't know anyone that has one of these.
,,,,,98

maybe we could go to Floyds and eat about 10 pounds of crawfish, lol.

Sounds good to me. Whenever you get back, post a 'get-together' message in the Events & Happenings forum and we can meet somewhere.

My truck HAD a muffler the size of a VW bug on it stock. All I ever heard was the engine fan, the exhaust was silent. The new Gibson Sweptside is about 30 pounds lighter, 1/3 the size, and sounds great but not too loud at all, exactly the way I wanted it.
