What Exhaust Do I Need?
I just purchased a 2001 Ford F-150 SuperCrew and now I am starting to add the mods!
I am fairly new to this and I have a few questions. I want to have a louder agressive sound but not extremely loud. What would be best for me to put on my truck. Thanks

I just installed CGS Motorsports' single 3"inlet, dual 2 1/2" outlets on my 5.4L. This is the only muffler that I am aware of that is designed for low-end torque and power. Flowmaster, Magna Flow, Gibson, etc. are designed for performance at high RPM's. That's why you hear a lot of people complaining about loss of power and torque with these mufflers. How many of us actually run our trucks in the 5K to 6K RPM range? CGS Motorsports' muffler has a great deep sound without any drone in the cab. It also has a lifetime guarantee unlike Flowmaster and Gibson. Check out their website or give them a call, "www.cgsmotorsports.com"
You have a v8? I will be assuming you do in this post. Go with a true dual setup with Flowmaster 40 series!!! If you don't want cab drone go with their delta flow, but it lowers outside noise just a tad as well.

Fordboy,
I'm with split--FLOWMASTER ALL THE WAY!! Now I have the Delta Flow series and I think they sound GREAT. Another thing that will decrease interior drone is to have the mufflers mounted under the BED(my original muffler was under the extended cab part--I don't know how the new ones are set up). But mounting the mufflers under the bed will help out a lot-with any muffler.

Stylin'SuperCrew....your information about Gibson is absolutely wrong and incorrect!
Gibson Exhaust is one of the VERY few manufacturers that are designed to produce most torque and HP throughout the entire RPM band. Gibson Also carry's a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle (muffler/tail).
The Gibson "Swept Side" system is one of the best single most producing aftermarket exhaust systems you can buy today.
There are lot's of posts on this board from others about Gibson...please read and learn more about this quality product.

you may want to check out gibsons web page at www.gibsonperformance.com. i was looking for something that boosted performance with sound being secondary. after first installed i barely noticed and noise change at all, but did notice an immediate pickup in low to mid range power. yesterday though the wife took the truck out and i listened as she pulled down the driveway and down the street. sweet deep throatty sound (though not 'loud'). i am very happy with this purchase and deffinetly felt the improvement in the trucks performance.
sorry, forced to edit this after reading stylins update. the gibson swept side is designed for the most performance out of all their catbacks. it is not 'just top end'. it is designed more with towing power, and up hill passing power in mind. it made an immediate and definite change in 'off the line' power for me. also the stainless steel system IS covered by a lifetime guarantee
