The Flowmaster 50 series 3-chamber muffler is not too annoying.
Here in the Bay Area Flowmaster is very popular, and I have had a good experience with my cat back system. The tone is deep, and smooth...when I punch it it howls. Unlike many other trucks...Chevy, Dodge, Ford sounds the best with Flows. All the others sound out-of-tune in comparison. I think it's a matter of personal choice. There are a lot of great mufflers and set ups, a lot of which can be seen by the diversity on this site. Take a listen to all, but don't cross Flowmaster off you list just because other's think they are crappy. In truth, they are not. I've had mine over a year.

 

mf150 where exactly are you located in the Bay Area? and yes Flowmaster is very popular here and half the trucks that have Flows sound like crap like you have noticed. Some of them do have a decent sound but not many.Alot of people around the bay area also still like cherry bombs and glasspacks other stuff like that.

CherryBombs from Kragen! HAHAHA!!! That stuff is bad! You cannot go wrong with Bassani, Borla, Gibson...etc. These are great, quality parts. I guess I'm just accustomed to Flows cause all my hot-rod pals have it. A lot sound like KaKa, but the Ford's (V8's) I have heard don't sound that bad. My friend has a 99 Suburban and the thing has so much backpressure that you actually hear a popping noise on deceleration. I don't know.

I'm In San Francisco about an hour give or take away from you (near Fairfield, right?). Ever go to Sears Point? I'll be going this summer to run the 1/4 Mi. just for the fun of it.

Yeah that's right Fairfield Suisun is actaully on Hwy 12 just past Jelly Belly and Budwieser Plant. And yes i have gone to Sears Point for the Drags I got buddy that owns a few All Pro Auto Parts Which is one of John Force's Sponsors so i go with him and we get to go meet John and get pictures taken with him have hats shirts and whatever else signed get to eat in the Tent with all the other Sponsor types. If you look at the nose of Force's car you will see the All Pro bumper to bumper decals. As for the Flowmaster it also has to do with whcih model you go with some are better than others. Hey, that's a clean ride! Nope, don't have a gallery...I don't have a scanner yet, but as soon as I get one I'll try it. I know this might be digressing a bit, but what days do they (Sears Point) have public runs?

Also, like those AR-15's? .223 or 308?
I use to have one, but then I traded her in for a marlin 45-70 Guide Gun. I love the marlin, but I still wish I had the Colt H-BAR. Now, I'm into 1911 A1 45's. Had one made custom from Competition Gunworks about a year ago.

As far as Sears Point goes i think it Thursday but call them and ask or visit there website. AR is .223 and i don't have it anymore either i use to have a Marlin 444 which was a really nice gun I am looking to get another one sometime soon hopefully.
