Question Stock exhaust question

Sometimes, especially when the engine is warm, I hear a ticking sound coming from under me. I thought it was an exhaust leak - so i went under the truck and found two places where Ford connected two pieces of piping together using a clamp without actually welding the two pieces together.

Is this a likely place where my exhaust would be leaking?
And, are these areas supposed to be welded, or left with just a clamp??

My theory: I think that when the exhaust pipes get hot, they slightly change shape due to the heat and cause a leak here. I also see water around these areas sometimes.

Thank you, Stephen

The water is a normal thing. The leak or sound is also pretty normal, I would bet you have no leaks!!

Just stick your hand over the end of the tailpipe with the motor running, if there is a leak you will hear hissing wherever the leak is.
