Question Cut out the "Y"? Different muffler?

I have a FM 40 SI/SO with 20" x 3" turn down. How can I make it louder? Should I cut the "Y" and go true duals? I don't want to lose much back pressure...is this a bad idea? Second, should I leave the "Y" in place and put a different muffler in? Something more straight though maybe?
