Flowmaster.....
I wanted to a muffler for my Excursion, I was looking at the 70 Series Flowmaster, because its pretty quiet - the wife has to drive it too! Anyone use this muffler? Also what is the diamiter inlet/outlet for the V-10 Excusion?
B.T.W. - Should i get a full cat-back system? I know that the EXPY doesn't gain really any HP from exhaust, and was wondering if this was true for the Excursion? Whats a good semi quiet cat back sys?

I don’t know all the answers to your questions but if I were to guess you have 2.5 inch Diameter pipes like everyone else. (you would have to measure to be sure) 70 series would be nice and quiet with a slight rumble. You can go to the Flomaster web site where they have charts on the sound levels. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/fmtest/DOCS/SET.html
In my opinion true Dules will give you the most horse power increase and is probable necessary for your heavy breathing V10, I think Flowmaster makes a 70 series that has DI/DO. This way you would not need an “H” pipe to scavenge gas. The duel exhaust can be accomplished by cutting your “Y” pipe down the middle Therefore splitting it into two separate exhaust systems. Check out “ULTIMATE EXHAUST SYSTEM” on this board.

I have been running the 70 series for a little over a year and am very pleased with it. I just have the 4.6 so I did muffler only and actually could tell a small improvement in performance. I don't know what size the original system on the Excusion is, but I would go at least to a 3" single. The sound at idle and cruise is very close to stock and there is no drone. You can tell it isn't stock only when you get on it.
