Question Headers...coated or painted?

Ok guys...

I am going to put headers on my 97 f-150 4x4. I have found some form pacesetter and dynomax. However there is a price difference, manily because of the coated v painted. So what is the difference and is ceramic coated worth 100.00 more than painted? Let me know something from yall experts.

Coat. I have painted with high temp paint and _usually_ the paint will eventually peel. I use Jet Hot Coatings for my coating on all my restorations.

If you can get the headers coated for only $100 DO IT NOW!

Will help somewhat to keep internal under hood temp down. Plus it looks MUCH better. Peeling IS the biggest problem w/paint. If you have to put the headers in and out few times to correct the peeling you will wish you had coated.

Yes I like the Ravin exhaust very much. Will help with performance and sound. When I bought mine I had them put on a FM DF 50 then the Ravin. I selected the Ravin for 1. liked sound better and 2. flowed better - more hp (this is were debate starts). The other thread discusses 1000 cfm on a magnafow(I still haven't seen it) but does not mention that other items must be changed to get 1000 cfm, such as cats, if it is even possible at all. And yes it is worth the money. I paid $125.

Forgot to mention, I have not heard of Pacesetter. I usually install Hooker, Headmans and SLP.

What is the difference in Pace and Dynomax headers regarding the primaries and collectors? Some schools of thought believe that the primaries should all be about the same length - some do not believe it is important. What about fit and size of pipes? What about the rest of your system?

So you think the coating is worth the extra $100.00. I am not all that concerned about the paint peeling, but I would want the coated if they perform better. Is that the major draw back with the painted is that they will peel? Do you know if Pacesetter is a good name or not?

Thanks for your help

One more question.......how do you like your Raven exhaust. is it worth the money? Is it more sound or performance?

Thanks OK
