Question Will my exhaust be loud, need experts help

I am looking into getting a flowmaster 40 series for my truck (F150 Supercrew 4.6 V-8) and I am getting the split rear. With the catalytic converter still on will this be noticable, I want it to be loud but not to the extreme but I would like to be able to tell that there is a Flow on my truck. I'd apprecciate your help.

It won't be real loud but you certainly know you got an aftermarket exhaust.

here you go...I've got this on my 4.6...flowmaster 40 #430402...3inch single in dual 21/2 out...have them put 18inch 3inch tips on it....now this flow is for a 350 chevy, but the ford makes it sound sweet...the only problem I've ever had with the sound is at 65 MPH..it does resonate back to the cab but as soon as your 70 it's gone and the faster you go the Quieter it gets(jet pilots say the same thing as they approach the sound barrier too) go to the photo gallery and you'll see what my tips look like straight out the back

I think Flowmasters sound awesome on the 4.6s and 5.4s You will be more than happy with a 40 series on it... my buddy has a 50 series on his 4.6 and it sound sweet. Not too loud and a nice growl at start-up.

Jmorg: I think the 40-series delta would sound great in your truck. I went to lunch today with my co-workers' 02 Cheby Silverado, he's got the 40-series delta with a single 3" tip out the rear side, stock cats. It sounds great, deep throaty rumble. To my surprise, it's not all that loud around town. But he said it has a slight drone at highway speeds.

Warren.

I had a 40 series on my 4.2l, and it sounded good and I liked it alot. The problem was towing it was WAY too loud some times going up to some lakes up some MAD STEEP hills and on long trips to arizona. Now I have a 50 series and it sounds good, not as lound but sounds great when you want the noise and when you tow...

Personally, I had the 50 series on my truck last year, but I was disappointed... I had just wanted more sound out of the truck; my taste may be a bit extreme for some.

I also have the 50 series Delta Flow with all four cats still intact.
I love it because I have a sound system. But I also have a FIPK, and a chip which makes it scream even more GRRRRRR.
I was entertaining the idea of buying a 40 series flowmaster tonight. I wanted it to rip more. Any suggestions on whether I should do this? Is the difference in sound worth $70?

thanks

mf.

thanks everyone

I don't know what the 50 sounds like but i got my 40 series today and it's exactly the sound i wanted. It growls at low speeds and isn't loud enough in the cab to get the sound stuck in your head on the highway. Thanks for all your help.
