Cool Headers installed

Well Neal the HP freak keeps getting faster and faster. His JBA's will be installed soon so I had to do something. I went and bot a set of Headman Hedders for my 4.6L. A pain in the A would be putting it lightly. The only hardware with the set was nuts & bolts & washers to replace the studs connecting manifold to the exhaust pipe and 16 flat washers. I had to reuse the studs from the Heads. The EGR side turned out to be the easy side. Once the EGR fitting was removed
I disconnected the pipe nuts then loosened the nuts holding the manifold to the head.
That manifold pulled right off and the header was fitted on. No need to disconnect the drive shaft (4x4). Tightened it all up and felt brave enough to start the other side. It was now 7:30 P.M. 2 hours elapsed. I didn't jack up or remove tire. The other side was a nightmare. I was able to remove all the nuts except the two lower middle ones. The #|!"/$%?&ing motor mount was in the way. I had to remove the starter to confirm this. I tried lifting the engine but could not. Put it all away for the night. It is now 9:30 10:00 P.M. Frequent brakes, wash hands, have beer, dress wounds/bruises, ponder life and the prospect of driving with 1/2 set of headers...

Next day (raining), get under truck and reinstall starter manifold and drive around looking for shop to help remove motor mount and grind off part to clear socket. Everybody was booked come back tomorrow.
Last place I went suggested disconnecting mount from block and lifting engine. This should allow mount to stay in place and engine to raise giving clearance. Went home and tried it and 1 1/2 hours later the headers were on. Removing starter is necessary to access motor mount bolt. It seems that in 2000 they changed the motor mount on the 4.6.

JMC,

Where'd you buy the headers?

How do you like them? How much did they cost?

Thanks! fish.

fish,

I bought them at a local speed shop here in windsor (Pro Custom). I paid $483.00
Canadian or $241.50 US. The help the engine breath better. I can feel a little better throttle response now.

Thanks for your response, JMC! Maybe I can con the dealer to throw them on when I get the slapping engine swapped.
