Add a F.M. 40, or go dual?
I ordered a 2001 F-150 4X2 Sport, and I wanted to know if my best bet would be to simply add a Flowmaster 40 to the stock exhaust, or replace the system from the F.M. back to dual outs. Thanks

Muffler alone will increase performance over the factory muffler and provide great sound. If you like the dual look with the single in muffler; that is cool also. Your performance/backpressure will be regulated by your most forward restriction (the single pipe part).

I Replaced my factory muffler with a FM 40 series and it sounds great. So great that people ask me about it and what I did. My dad liked it so much he put it on his 97 F-150 4.6L. If you want it to look factory but have a good performance sound just replace the muffler. I thought about running duals on mine a first but after just replacing the muffler I don't think I am going to change a thing. But like everybody is saying, even with the FM 40 my truck is still not very loud.
