Question REMOVE RSONATORS FOR 1 CHAMBER FLOWS?

HEY GUYS,
I JUST INSTALLED TWO (2) FLOWMASTER....UH, 10 SERIES MUFFLERS (?). THEY ARE 1 CHAMBERS. THE TECHNICIAN AT FLOWMASTER SAID THAT MY TRUCK WOULD BE LOUD, LIKE HAVING NO EXHAUST AT ALL. WELL, HE WAS DEFINITLEY WRONG. IT SOUNDS PRETTY SILENT. NOT LIKE FLOWMASTERS AT ALL. THE GUY IN THE MUFFLER SHOP SAID THAT THE 5.4 LITER HAS 2 RESONATORS THEN INTO 2 CATS....IF I WOULD LOOSE THE RESONATORS I WOULD GET THE SOUND I'M AFTER. MY QUESTION IS, "IF I REMOVE THE RESONATORS WILL IT EFFECT MY COMPUTER SENSORS..(O2 OR AIR AND FUEL MIXTURE)? CAN OR WILL IT HURT?

Those aren't resonators. Our trucks have 4 catalytic converters. Remove one and you're subject to troubles from the EPA.

Something is right here - if you really do have 1-chambered Flowmasters (which I personally have never heard of) you should at least have that 'flowmaster sound'.

Thumbs down

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE GUY AT YOUR MUFFLER SHOP!!

He does not know what he is talking about! there are no resonators on ford trucks you have whats called pre-cats and cats. the reason for this is the pre-cats elminate the oxides of nitrogen in your emmisions the cats remove most of the carbonmonxide and hydrocarbons in your exhaust. How big are your mufflers? If they measure 6 inches they are series 10 (which by the way are race mufflers, not to be used on the street). Your truck should be at least as loud as the glasspack probably louder. If your muffler is longer than that you've been had!

I took off my cats(4). Then welded a nut to the pipes to screw in the sensors(4),had no problems yet.
