Post FLOWMASTER 40 INSTALLED.....THANKS MUDDER!!!!

Hey,

Thanks for that wav. file of you exhaust. I listened to it and decided right then and there that I just had to have my truck sound like that. So, I had a customized job done on my truck about two weeks ago. I had a FLOWMASTER 40 installed with duals out the rear with the chrome tips of course, and man does it look allot meaner that stock.

I originally was going to go with the FLOWMASTER 50, but I thought a truck like mine needs to sound like a truck not like a SEDAN. I happy with my decision to go for the 40 instead of the 50.

I did notice right of the bat that my truck took off allot faster than before and the sound of the FLOW 40 isn't loud inside the cab at all. I think it's becuase the FLOWMASTER is located more under the bed, rather than under the cab. The whole job only cost me $197.00 out the door. Pretty cool I thought.

Thumbs up

I just got my 40-Series Delta Flow Flowmaster installed. Total price was $230. That was me buying the muffler from summit ($80), and the muffler shop providing the pipes, tips, and installation ($150). This was definately the way to go. It's loud enough to get the attention of pretty much everyone, while quiet enough inside to not have to crank up the radio.

Hey Cajungator,
Sorry for being a damn newbee. I updated my sig. I've got a 4.6L. There is no evident power loss. Went with 3" in and 2_1/2" out.
Mileage gain, well I've had it on for three days and the lead footin' has let up yet to see how much mileage will be gained.

Cajungator,
You have two options with the 40 series Flowmaster, Delta or the regular version. The regular 40 series is a little louder than the Delta Flow, but with the same performance/power. Its up to you if you want it to be softer or louder.

If you are planning on doing any highway driving, definately look into the idea of the Delta Flow. I just got back from a 6 hr. round trip and there a bit of a hum inside the cab at ~55 to ~60, and virtually no exhaust noise inside from ~65 to ~75. Its so quiet inside you question the noise levels outside, until you turn heads every block.
There seems to be a noticable power gain especially in the mid-to-upper rpms. Its hard to tell the difference in low rpm because that the best part of having a Flowmaster.....the sound. Haven't check mpg to see if there's any increase/decrease.

I just installed my 40 today. Sounds excellent!!! I ordered mine from New Era Exhaust out of Florida. $170 to my door. I installed it, but I like doing my own work. I noticed the power increase right off the bat. Especially like BIG_D_98 said, in the mid-upper range. It doesn't seem like you have to floor it as much when getting on the interstate. I also noticed my tranny started to shift a little better also. And it is also almost dead silent at higher speeds. I love it and don't regret not getting the DeltaFlow or 50.
