Tommy: I've got the 40 on my beast, love it. Yes, it's loud and I think more so because of the 5 speed and being able to control the shifts. I've also got the Ziebart soundproofing on this beast and that might be helping with the interior noise. Or maybe I don't notice it so much because of the stereo being louder I have pulled up next to cops and in those type of situations, I tend to keep my foot out of the gas

tina,
can you elaborate on the ziebart soundproofing..(is there a thread somewhere) if you do not mind me asking how much did it run you..i know it's loud but i just can't part with my 40.don't you love leaving in 3rd gear just a tad longer and letting them rpms climb..that baby can roar..sorry i was getting caught up in the moment..if your wondering why i am even considering switching out my muffler ,my girlfriend said my truck was loud .i guess she thinks that the time behind the wheel is for talking or something..man i just want to crank up the tunes and drive hard.

Spydog: When I ordered my beast, I was able to get the vehicle protection pkg which consists of: Ziebart rustproofing, Ziebart underbody sound deadener and interior fabric protection. Set me back $399 Personally, I think it's been worth it because, I got no rust, the 40s flowmaster doesn't sound to bad inside with windows up and the kids haven't been able to stain the back seats. Do a search www.ziebart.com and see if that helps.

Just remembered the rest of your post...DO NOT let your girlfriend talk you into taking off the 40 because it's too loud. There is no such thing as too loud!!! And it sounds like you really love the sounds. Even my kids think it's cool to listen to the pipes "talk" when I'm shifting They know it's their time to "hush" so mommy can hear the downshifts. On pretty days that I don't have to run the air, I always have the windows down so I can hear those pipes

spydog: I'm glad to be able to help. Hey, my son is 6 too!! He really gets into the music when I play Talking Heads (stop making sense) Sings it at the top of his lungs!! Try pulling up to church with that playing wide open and you still can hear my son Checked your profile, see that you're in Houston. My sister is there too. Do you know about the chat room here on the message board??? We meet every Thurs night at 9pm est. (8 for you)
I just looked at your signature, you've got all that stereo stuff and ONLY stock speakers!!! I'm surprised you haven't blowed them by now.
