i'm about to make several mods to my truck and needless to say one fo them is the exaust system. i think i'm gonna buy the parts at a local speed. they reccomended a shop to do the custom exaust. the guy at the shop couldnt give me a price estimate. said labor was $55/hr and it would take "as long as it takes" told me the custom 3" pipes w/H-pipe was $100 and to expect "around" $250 to install the headers and $200 for the cats, mufflers and pipes. mind you thats after i'm already spending $780 on the headders,cats, & mufflers. just sounds like he's tryin to break one off in me......

 

Jeez, I think I spent about $429 on my headers and pipes from the cat back, w/o mufflers and 3.5" echo tips. Guess I got a heck of a deal?

WHAT YEAR IS THE TRUCK? I RECENTLY INSTALLED A HEARTHROB INDUSTRIES CATBACK DUALS ON MY 96 F150/5.0.THE KIT WAS $150.00 COMPLETE FROM JC WHITNEY. KIT HAS NO MUFFLERS/HAS RESONATOR TIPS.NOT BAD PRICE FOR A DO IT YOURSELF KIT AND 3 HRS OF LABOR.

 

I had my exhaust done at a local muffler shop. He did a custom 3 in from the Y after the cats to a single in, dual out flowmaster 40. Price including everything, muffler, labor,and the (2) chrome slash tips...$178

ok, sorry guess i wasnt specific enough. my truck is a '97 f150, 4.6L the price i've been quoted is $780 for fordmotor sport headers, 2 hi flo cats, and 2 hooker mufflers(going to true dual exaust). the guy at the shop wants $100 for the custom 3" pipes & h-pipe. then he wants $55/hr for installing everything. wouldn't quote me a price. ghe told me to expect $250 for header instaliation and another $200 or so to do the mufflers/pipes.

 

Darren Dude, Where did you get your work done? I'm in Colorado Springs and looking to do a new system.
