2000 Ford Interior
I finally took delivery on my 2000 F150 XLT Sport, extended cab. I do love my truck. BUT... what did they do to the seats and general interior. I looked at the 99's, but opted to wait. The captains chairs seem to be flat there are no bolsters and very little shape what-so-ever. The steering coloum seems like its awful short. I am 6' 5" and when i position the seat so that my legs are confortable, it is very difficult to reach the steering wheel. Has anyone else noticed this?

I love mine with the 60/40 split bench. I especially like the Sport material better than on the XLT without the Sport option. The regular XLT material seems more velour or fuzzy.

I'm 6'4" and work on these all day long. I have never had a problem fitting. The Sport interior is nice. (Just don't like the gay Sport sticker. Shoulda made it look like the Off Road sticker.) Has the same dimensions as the others, just different material.

I had a 2000 Sport on order, and then changed my mind and bought a 99! Why? The rear seat configuration! I looked at one of the early 2000 models, and noticed the rear seat on the 2000 folds up instead of flipping forward like previous models! Personally, I haul more "stuff" than I do people and wanted the extral space the flip forward design gives! Also, I got an excellent deal on a left over 99! I was told the Sport models had been delayed due to the Sport Seat fabric, but have not seen a 2000 Sport to compare with my interior. I'm happy with my truck, so don't know if I want to see something else that I will want!

I, too, have the '99 supercab and love the flip-down rear seat. When I heard it was being changed to a flip-up, I immediately thought of the Toyota Tundra, which has the flip-up. Could Ford be trying to play "keep up with the Jones'"? I surely hope not.
My 98 had the fold down seats..and I really liked them..then I found out that the 2000's had changed...I was not happy.
Having had my 2000 now for almost a month..I have to be honest and say I really like the fold UP seats also. The fold up feature has come in handy several times.
There is not as much storage space under the new fold up seats...but I don't mind them at all. Just something to get use to if you have/had the original fold down seats.

I'm 6'4, and I noticed immediately the distance to the steering wheel. I have to say that I like the extended distance to the wheel. In my old GMC, the steering wheel was so close, I was afraid of getting impaled on the steering column if I ever had an accident. When I held my arm out straight, the wheel in my GMC hit me about midway up my forearm - in the F150, it hits my wrist - a good 8-10 inches farther away.
