Question Factory exhaust pipe size...

I ordered a Flowmaster muffler today. I ordered the 40 series single in, dual out. The question I have is will there be any problem using this for in a catback system, because the single in is 3" and I'm pretty sure my exhaust is 2 1/2" all the way through. I have the 4.6 engine. Has anyone had experience with this?

If they don't send you a reducer (2 1/2"-3"), you should be able to purchase one at Pep Boys or another auto parts store for a couple of bucks. They are readibly available. This would be a minor inconvenience, not a major "show stopper" during your install...
