The Borla Cat Back system is complete. It replaces from the muffler to the tips.

I have a Bolrla exhaust, they have a strong mellow roar and opposed to flowmaster. Flowmaster has a hard roar. I've had both and Borla is alot better.

I payed over $400.00 for my system. It was worth it though. This is a steal if you get it under $400.00. The system is awesome.

 

I'm almost 99% sure im going with borla but how bad does a si/do flowmaster 40 series with pipes out the back sound?

 

I have the Borla Catback on my 97 4x4 with side exit and had Borla on my 1988 F150 4x4 also which a friend owns now and it is still going strong and sounds as good today as the day i installed it back in 1988. Borla has an oustanding warranty also Lifetime Million mile and i recently had to use it. Ford replaced the engine in my 97 and in the process broke the weld on the Borla where the pipe joins the muffler. I was worried that they would tell me Ford broke it have Ford buy you a new but instead they said we will ship one out right away it has to be made as soon as you get it take the old one off put it in the box the new one came in and we will have UPS pick it up. Now that's worth the extra cost to me.You can still get the side exit for a 1997 if you call Borla and order it this is the part number 14627 and i payed around 399.00

Is the Borla cat back exhaust system for the 1997 F-150 P/N 14627 a SI/DO or a SI/SO with tips that split at the very end of the tailpipe? Also, What diameter is the inlet and outlet pipes?

 

That part number is correct and it is a SI/DO with 3" into and dual 2-1/4" out the muffler.

i just bought a borla catback system for my 2003 lightning.. it ran me at toal of $667.70, that was including shipping and handling.

 

Magnaflow uses 400 series stainless steel which is an inferior material prone to rust and stress corrosion.

Borla uses 304 stainless which is of a much higher quality and also much more expensive.

I strongly believe that when you compare the quality of materials and construction there is no question that Borla is worth the few extra bucks.
