Stock exit pipe or duals?

I plan on getting a magnaflow y-pipe 2.5 in/3 out, and a magnaflow muffler. Would the performance gains be better if I used a SO muffler with a single 3 inch exit, or would it be better to get a DO muffler and have dual 2.5 inch pipes? My truck is a 99 5.4, no mods. Im just looking for the best increase in power mostly. Thanks

Andrew

They would be similar if you used a 3" pipe and muffler as that is smaller cross sectional area than tewo 2.5" pipes. The only difference would be looks, cost, and a little bit different sound.
