Exceursion Battery question
Exceursion Battery question
I had my cousin hanging with me today. He came down from LA to watch my daughters soccer team play in a tourney. He drives an 02 excursion
He didn't have to drive too far but he did have the AC and the on board DVD player going for the kids. As we drove back from lunch (just a few miles) he the TV shut off and his display lights seemed to dim a bit. After he parked he tried starting it right back of and it just tic tic ticked like the battery was dead.
He let it sit for a while and when we came back an hour later it fired up just fine. The whole way home he didn't run the AC or the tv and it went OK.
I guess the question is has anyone else had problems with the stock motorcraft battery in the excursion with all the bells and whistles???

If it happened when it was running, I wouldn't look at the battery. If the battery died, it may just have been the result of another problem so it ended up powering all the "goodies" which is not what a battery is for when you'r driving, that's what the alternator if for. Look at the alternator!
