Do rear window air deflectors "do anything" on Excursions?

Do rear window air deflectors "do anything" on Excursions?
Does anyone have experience with rear window air deflectors on an Excursion? I'm curious to hear if they live up to their claim to reduce dust accumulation on the rear window?
Lund makes what appears to be a good one (but requires drilling - yuk!), and EGR just came out with one for the Excursion that looks really sharp (IMHO) and requires no drilling.....
