I have an Expedition now with a 5.4 and heavy duty tow package. I want to get an Excursion with the V-10 or Diesel and Tow package. From checking the used ones they all have the same axle codes in the Vin number whether its listed as having the tow package or not. Was the tow package standard on all the V-10 and Diesels or am I missing something. The axle code on the V-10 is "N" and on the diesel its "S" I believe.

 

Good question...I have a 2004 Ex w/ the 6.0L Limited. I will look on my old window sticker and see what the specs say.
