My friend upgraded his Excursion wheels four years ago. He went from Hub-centric to lug-centric wheels. He has driven 65-70k miles since the change. Now he is getting vibrations as he drives. The vibrations started after buying new tires. He's had the new tires on for the past 25k miles and it seems the vibrations have been getting worse. The more I type this the more I think it is the tires.

-Does anyone out there know about going from hub-centric to lug-centric wheels and if doing so will lead to wear or vibrations. He has rebalanced and alignments several times with no luck.

-Is it possible that tires could go so bad that they cannot be balanced? In other he is looking for ideas. Thanks for all advice.
