5.4L vs 6.8L V10
#1
To all Ford Excursion owners!!!
In the Ford Excursion up to date which of the two is more reliable. The V10 has held up fine and i am wondering if the V8 is to small for the huge frame it is sitting on. Don't get me wrong i beleive that the 5.4L can get it down the road but is it economicly correct compared to the V10. I would like to see if any of the 5.4L Excursion folks will give me some specs of their vehichle, whcih would they get if they could do it again.
Based on just around town and light towing.

I see lots of 5.4's around here in Soccer Mom Excursion's but that's it. It makes anice price point for a massive kiddo hauler.
I wouldn't think of towing anything (unless it's a lawn wagon ) with a 5.4. A nieghbor has a SD in the CC LWB config that has a 5.4 Does fine but it's really thirsty and towing sucks. He said it jst felt like it was about to die trying to pull a small, light flatbed trailer down the HWY. He uses it for the room, not the power.
Of course you know what engine I'm going to recommend.
