just wanted to find out you opinion on your psd excursion.. I currently own a 99 4x4 Expy ED edition, and averaging around 13-14 mpg(5.4L, 3.73). It doesn't appear that I'll be able to downsize, so I have thought about purchasing a PSD excursion. Please provide likes/dislikes, comparisions to your ole expy, mpg, etc... These gas prices are killing me!!! And my 93 lightning only gets 10-11 MPG, so I'm really hurting, considering both vehicles are daily drivers!! Thanks for you time,
Hey Sixguy,
I miss the Expy but the Ex is no comparison. Fuel milage is starting to improve but really won't get "good" until a lot more miles are on her. I'm getting 16-17 on the HWY running in just about any condition with the AC on at posted speeds. Around town it's a bad gauge because my city driving is really short trips and stop and go. But city is about 12-13 which is not bad.
Over all, it's a great road trip vehicle!! The diesel wasn't hard to get used to and best of all, towing get's better and better each time I tow.
What more can I say, it's great!!!

Hello,
I have a 2000 PSD Ex, it lives in northeast, under control of the wife. She feels very safe with the family in it in all conditions. Milage varies from around 14 mpg to 16 mpg on winter blend fuel and leaving it idle alot to keep warm or to warm up. By driving lite footed and keeping RPM's around 1400 to 1700 I have managed to get as high as 22 mpg by keeping it to 55mph on state highways . It has all the power you would want for towing. Also the 4X4 will pretty much go anywhere keep in mind, it is very heavy.
Good Luck
