Question wire that connects to oil pump?

I was changing the oil filter on my 2000 F150 (4.6L V8) and noticed that there is an electrical wire that runs right beside the oil filter and connects to the oil pump (?). The wire also splits and has another connector, but this one was just hanging loose. Try as I might I could not find anything that this second connector is supposed to connect to. Does anyone know where it goes?

Thanks,
Chknbone

If it was an expedition with VAPS then it would plug into a solenoid on the power steering pump. But its not, so it doesnt go anywhere.

Jeff,

I can't thank you enough. That's the kind of thing that would have haunted me for months, but I wouldn't want to have to pay someone to find it out.

Thanks again.

Mike
