OK, I have an 03 F-150 SCrew that has the factory gold package alarm. i.e. remote start etc. The alarm falses every 45 to 50 mins. The dealership has been on the phone with code alarm for hours at a time trying different things. Everything from replacing the entire system to individual componants. They seem to think it is due to the SCrew wiring. ? Anyone else hear of this? Also, they are at the point of offering to replace it with a Clifford Solaris which supposedly has the same features. Thoughts?

 

Have seen this on other vehicles with the Ford aftermarket/CodeAlarm setup.

It is likely being caused by the GEM module going to sleep. If I remember right CodeAlarm was installing a resistor in one of their harnesses to correct this.

 

This is what the dealer told me this am and this is the last thing they did yesterday. Only seemed to delay the falsing to 1 hour vs 30 to 45 mins. Thanks, I'm hoping that someone else has run into this same problem.

 

I have the same problem with my codealarm ca-130.

I had the Clifford in my Mustang. Tell them to install that.
