Are the bulbs dirty when you replace them? Do you think they are getting wet? If the seal on the bulb is bad or if the lense is cracked, that will make the bulbs burn out faster. Do both bulbs burn out at the same time?

Another thing that will burn your halogen bulbs out quickly is if you touch the glass during installation. Believe it or not, the small amount of oil on your fingers will cause a hot spot on the glass and cause bulb failure, Do not touch the glass during installation. I'd also check to make sure you're not getting water into the housings by not fully installing (turning) the bulbs.

I find it VERY strange. One thing you might want to do - and this is a long shot - is check the voltage that's actually getting to the lights with a meter. You might find a surprise there. I'd also recommend checking for a good ground. Halogen bulbs are very sensitive to low voltage situations.

What about vibration?

I've had lights blow due to excessive vibration. Seems odd that they both blow at the same time, but that might be something to check.

If you have had a recurring problem blowing both fog bulbs, then the DRL's have started acting up or stopped working, and now you notice that the switch is getting hot, I think almost certainly that you have a H.L. switch causing a resistance problem in your lighting circuits. Sounds like time for a new one. Was anything done to modify the wiring (foglight mod). If so, that could be causing the problem. Not the mod, but the actual work may not be up to par. Maybe? Hopefully you caught it before it starts melting your harness'.
