Question lighted switches

I just got a 00 lariat. I noticed that at night the headlight switch **** does not light up the indicator like the 4x4 ****. As well the power mirror control does not light up. Should either of these illuminate?

Thanks.

Not sure what you're talking about...

Are you indicating that while your lights are in the 'on' position, you have no illumination behind the **** itself?

Yup. On the heater controls and the 4x4 the **** has an indicator (white mark) that indicates where the **** points. Whan the lights are on they are illuminated. The headlight switch has the same **** but the white indicator does not light up. Just wondering if this is normal.

My old Explorer had a bulb in the headlight switch that burned out all the time. I guess that your truck would have the same thing. I think the bulb was only about $3.00, but it was a real pain to get out.

Good luck,
Mike

There aren't any indicator lamps behind the headlight switch or the power mirror switch.

thats one thing I noticed right away. I thought it was poor attention to detail.

I'll tell you why its important.

In Canada all vehicles have daytime running lights.

At night, dumba$$es drive around with only these on thinking they somehow have auto headlights on a $10,000 POS Hyundai.

ANyway, if people saw the illuminate switch indicating only parking lights were on...

My $25,000 truck didn't come with them either - I had to add the parts myself. At what point am I not an idiot for thinking they should come on my vehicle? Every single Chevy comes with them....

Just an observation.
