Question Door Mounted Courtesy Lamp Question

I have a question for you F150 gurus. I picked up my 2003 F150 Lariat Screw on 11/2/2002 and I noticed that the door mounted courtesy lamps were not lighting. I am talking about the little red reflector that is mounted on the arm rest of all 4 doors. I took apart the front two doors (cause I was going to use a ton of Dynomat) and I found there was wiring and flat socket for the front two doors. I got some bulbs from Ford and sure enough the lights came on when the doors were open. The back doors though do not have any wiring going to the door mounted courtesy lamps. My question (s):

1) Are the door mounted courtesy lamps an option?
2) Could it be that the ford assemble worker was hitting the bong hard and forgot the bulbs for the front two doors?
3) If the front doors are wired for the courtesy lamps, why not the back?
4) Should I complain to the dealer? (unless of course it is an option that I did not get which I would find funny since I got the lariat trim).

not sure about the f150. but when they first changed the body style of the 250. none of them had bulbs in the sockets. just something that slipped through.

Lights should be wired. Go complain... loudly. This is the kind of Q/C crap that ticks me odd from big companies.

Okay, I will ask the dealer and see what he says. (Putting on Hip Boots in case I have to step in it when the dealer replies).

The rear doors on my '01 SCrew have reflectors only (no place for a bulb). The front doors are the only ones that have courtesty lights.

Bumping this old thread for an answer. I have a '03 SuperCab Lariat, while the openings in the doors are made to take a bulb socket there is not one there. Can some one give me a definite answer as whether the sockets are behind the door panel or was it an option that was remove for '03?

Thanks.

2003 F-150 SCrew Lariat FX4 Fully Loaded

Mine don't have any lights, just the red reflector lense.

Mine is the same way, but I'm wondering if there is wiring behind the door panel because of the post at the top.

When I installed my front speakers, I took a picture of the driver's door w/o the panel and did not recall seeing a wiring harness anywhere near the courtesy lamp unless the harness was hidden behind the vapor barrier as I didn't remove mine when I did my install.

I was afraid of that, oh well. Guess I'll just leave it alone.

part number needed

Anyone have a part number for the courtesy light sockets? I bought new reflectors to replace the red stock reflectors, but I haven't found the appropriate sockets yet. The socket mounting hole is already there. All one would need to activate the courtesy lamp feature is the wiring, socket/bulbs, and reflector.

I am activating the glove box light as well. Look for photos to be posted at a future date!
