Switch/Voltage/Amperage Question

I have a small fixture that I want to use for a light modification for my center console.

My question, the pushbutton switch that I've selected is rated, according to the package, at 3A at 125VAC/1.5A at 250VAC.

The fixture that I selected is a blazer C460 interior light that has a 12v/3w bulb with cover. The fixture looks like this without the cover:

My question, will this switch be ample to control the light? I'm electrically 'dumb' so, I'm just not sure what I need and what will work.

I plan on tapping this light into the CD Changer harness inside the console (which is hot all the time and on a 15A fused line).

I just need a little help here as I'm so unsure about electricity....

THANKS!!!!

A 3 Watt bulb at 12 VDC will draw 0.25 Amps.
