Unhappy Dash Lights/Instrument Cluster Removal

I need to replace the dash lights on my 98 F150 XLT. From previous posts and the Haynes Manual I have figured out how to remove the dash panels and get to the instrument cluster, but I can't figure out how to disconnect the auto transmission shift indicator cable. Anyone have experience with this?

When I replaced my dash lamps on my 97, there were 2 screws that I removed which held the shift indicator to the instrument panel. Also, I replace all the lamps with long life lamps.

I just did this too, and mine had two little locking tabs on each end of the indicator panel that you needed to 'unlatch' before it would slide off.
