Question Battery light on when passing ???

Greetings,

This pertains to a 1999 F150 SC, 4.6L with app. 50K miles. Just recently I've noticed that when I floor it to pass, my battery light on the dash will come on until the revs drop after completing the pass. Any ideas what this could be - belt?, battery?, Alternator? TIA for any help.

Regards

if anything i would say alt. thats what would go funny on high rev. does it make a diff with lights on or off. have it load tested. i think you have a alt concern. battery cables ok? clean.

IT'S FIXED !

Pulled my alternator off today and took it to a rebuild shop. Nothing suspicious initially on the bench, however he checked the brushes and they were bad. Thankfully, he had OEM brushes to replace the bad ones with. He said that he had problems with some of the non-OEM brush packs. $45 later I'm back in business !

Thanks again to all who replied to my post. Hopefully, if this comes up again, someone can benefit from my experience. Take care.

Regards,
