Ford System 4 Security
Ford System 4 Security
Has anyone purchased/installed this OEM alarm kit? I really like that is fully integrates to the keyless (both remote and keypad) and that I don't have to pay some alarm shop out the nose for an alarm install cause most of the work is already done with the OEM kit.
Any input is appreciated. I am specifially talking about he Ford System 4 Security System (P/N F3AZ-19A361-C)

BTT... someone must have some experience with this product.
I am considering just a fake alarm indicator, but I am not sure. This is the only alarm I am considering so I can disarm with the keypad on the door.

DEI 415
I had a local shop add a DEI 415 model to my SCrew.
Don't know if it cross references to the ford part number, but it
is the add-on to the factory keeyless entry system.
I wanted to keep the factory keeyless entry fobs, because the distance is great. The DEI 415 adds a siren, starter kill relay, shock sensor. It also arms and disarms with the keypad on the drivers door, what is does not have is the voltage drop sensor where if for whatever reason someone opens a door and the dome light comes on, the alarm goes off. That I don't like.

I guess I could go chat with the aftermarket guy at a dealer and see if they have on installed in a vehicle I can play with then go to an alarm shop with a list of features and see if they can duplicate the system.
.........a project for my weekend
You can with DEI's find the door pin switches to monitor the doors - not sure what color they are anymore - but the computer watches the same thing for the door ajar signal. The wire will com through the door some where.....
Or if you want to get fancy - you can put your own in.

It's not possible to have it both disarm from the keypad as well as have a voltage drop sensor tied into the lights because (duu-uh!) when you hit the keypad to disarm it, it would set off the alarm because the dome lights come on!
You can't have them both...
