Angry Independent Thinking Door Locks

My power door locks on my '97 decide to unlock ON THEIR OWN
I have an aftermarket remote system but I lost the remote a good while ago.

I can leave the truck for an hour or two and when I come back, the doors are unlocked :O

Any ideas?

You could always pull the fuse, until you get a remote

Have it rewired. Mine used to do that and/or alarm would go off randomly. Woke up the neighbors in the middle of the night until they forced me at gunpoint to take my ride in and have it checked..

Should have called the cops on them if they were threatening you with guns to fix your trucks alarm system.

veightford,
I went swimming with the door lock transmitter in my pocket. Mine was also aftermarket.
Someone in your area may have a system that uses the same code as yours.
If you look behind the panel where the aftermarket system is installed (probably in the drivers side kick panel), usually there is one fuse for the receiver and a separate fuse for the locks themselves. Remove only the fuse to the receiver and the locks will only respond to the inside buttons.
What I did was to get an aftermarket alarm system with a random/roaming code sender/receiver. These random transmitters eliminate the possibility of someone else having the same code as you. Also they defeat code readers. You can hook it up to your existing electric door locks. Got my new one quite reasonably thru Ubid.com.

Good luck...

LOL. I was kidding, although they were pretty pissed. Besides, if I called the cops then I'd be the one in trouble.. Hehe.
