Power mirrors acting up....

Okay guys, I'm looking for some ideas here.

For one, both my power mirrors are acting up. Since it's BOTH power mirrors, I'm going to assume it's something common, like the switch.

Both mirrors *move*, but not in the direction the switch seems to suggest they should; ie, move the switch up, mirror moves *out*, or out and up. This happens for both mirrors.

Has anybody experienced this before? It's a 99 F-250 LD, X-Cab-4dr 4WD Lariat.

I'm hoping it's not the motors for each mirror, as I'm assuming this could be a rather expensive fix (with the built-in signal lights...).

How hard is it to pop out the power mirror switch, and test that out? Or, could it be something completely different, and I need to go looking elsewhere for it. Truck is LONG out of warranty, so I'd rather try to fix it myself, than taking it to the $stealer.

Thanks,

Pat

Sounds like you need to replace the switch. It is a relatively cheap repair, under $20.00.

Yes,
That's the switch. Just search the forum for something like "mirror switch"
I had the problem a month ago - fixed for 15 mins and $16 (???)
