Automatic door locks on 1997 Ford F-150 with rap module

Does anyone know where the sensor and relay are located for the automatic lock when vehicle starts to move?
The seat belt light on the dash comes on and stays on. What service procedure is necessary to correct this?

Please provide more detail about what you are trying to accomplish - is the autolocking working and you want to disable it? Or did it stop working and you want to diagnose it?

On the 97 F150, the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module monitors the backup lamps - when it sees the lamps come on (as you shift through reverse) it locks the doors.

Auto locks on 150 Ford

Thanks for your quick reply. I want to disable the automatic door lock feature and leave everything else intact so I can control the door locks with a remote as well as the switches inside the vehicle.

Do you have any thoughts regarding "Anti-theft alarm defective" problem located in Body/Electrical Systems (above)? Been advised by HuskerF150, gathering as much info as possible before I remove the door liner and attack the problem again.
Thanks.

Claude - autolock disable method

Try this - this should have been in your owner's manual:

Deactivating/activating the autolock feature
Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is OFF and all vehicle doors are closed.
You must complete steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long chirp) if autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once to confirm the
procedure is complete.

Buschman I sure hope you're right . I have both the 97 and the 99 150s and I have my owners for the 97 right in front of me and for the life of me I can't find that anywhere in the book . When I go out I am going to get my 99 manual . And I am going to try the procedure on my 97 (hope it works ) I like that feature locking doors when pulling off . Wishing my 97 would do it . I'll let ya know what I find
