Outside Temp Guage

Has anyone else experienced the outside temperature guage sticking on a certain temp? I had this happen intermittently and eventually it just starts working again. Just curious what may cause this.

I did just get done 4 wheelin but I don't remember running over any critters. I wonder if the sensor gets dirty if that would cause it. Second truck and the same problem.

mine does it everytime i go to a colder temp than the last time. until i was hunting in 8 below temp. it stayed at that temp most of the day. then finally started working again. now no prob. but untill i got to that 8 below. it was funny. every time i went to just a degree colder. it would stick for long time. has been fine now for about 7 months. it's been hot here in cal. i'm glad its not just my truck. hehe. good luck
