Fog Lights for 97 F-150

I was wondering if there is any other place to buy the stock fog lights besides the dealer? How much do they cost at the dealer, any idea? Probably too much. Thanx

With the 99 you need a new 99 bumper, fog light assemblies, new 99 grill, body colour bumper cap, etc, etc.

Try a wrecking yard. If your lucky you'll find a 97 or 98 XLT with the rear end taco'd. That would be the cheapest solution and look nicer like an XLT.

You'll need the relays that plug in either in the underhood fusebox or the dash fuse box. Can't remember. Look in your owners manual, it shows the fog light relay I believe. I think the wiring should be there behind the bumper, if not you'll have to steal that too. Check a Haynes or Chilton manual's wiring diagrams.

97 & 98 were identical.

I am looking for OEM look fog lights for my 98 XL as well. Try this website http://www.ford-auto-body-parts.com/ . I have never bought anything there, but they have the fog lights for around $150 including shipping. They are new replacement lights, looks like an autobody supply place. If you get them before I do let me know what they are like and how the install goes.

Thanks,
Tom

I have already found that place but i don't want to pay $150 for those fog lights!!

I forget the site, but i emailed them looking for a set and they will probably email me back monday. It was a wrecking yard in ontario and they were fairly cheap.

If any of you guys get your lights, post a pic if you can. I was looking at mine (a 97) and i do not see where they would mount. Is there a different bumber on some trucks.

Most 97's had black plastic covers where the XLT foglights are mounted on either side in the middle of the bumper. It could be some models had just the plastic cap on top of the bumper and a solid chrome bumper with only one centre opening for the radiator. If that's the case you'll have to find a bumper assembly as well, because OEM XLT foglights won't fit.
