1997 F150 4x4

I have the dreaded "door ajar-dome light" problem.
I'm not too crazy about filling my door panel with
a flammable liquid.

Can you take the whole door latch assembly out and
clean it up? Or is this a real production?

Will a non-flammable solvent like Liquid Wrench
do the trick?

My cargo light stays on also, sometimes quite a while.

People at work keep telling me that my lights are
on in my truck, and I can't take it anymore. I hate to
do something drastic like take it to the dealer!
