water in the horn...

Well, with all the flooding here in the Texas hill country, it was inevitable that I'd get my horn wet YET AGAIN. My question to yall is this... Is there ANYHING I can do, short of replacing the horn? I'll probably end up getting some kind of trumpet style horn with a compressor, so I can mount it high, but if I can save the original, thats a lot of beer money!

I don't know what you should do short of what you mentioned. Did you just drive through some high water, or did your truck actually get stuck in a flooded area?

I drove it through water... there was a chevy coming the other way. The only thing that irritates me is that Ford put the horn units with the output cones pointing UP so that they COLLECT water. On top of that, ever notice that its right in front of the wheel? I dunno... I just feel that they should have thought of things like that when they design an offroad package. Still if thats the only complaint...

well at least now you can get a horn that will play dixie. We've had a few flash flood type storms here in Dallas, nothing too deep though. The city gutters just can't handle it all and the right lanes end up being impossible to drive in. Good look with the fix/replacement.

the rain stopped a few days ago, and all the little streams around here are like raging rivers. both medina and canyon lakes erached record levels last week. Also, the entire town of Bandera (if you ride motorcycles, you should be familiar with hwy 337 from bandera to leakey) was completely under water. The lower portions of Helotes (where I live, NW of San Antonio) were flooded, and they shut down portions I-35, I-10, and 281 due to the water blocking the highways. oh yeah... I used my sea doo to pull in the dock on medina lake, which is now tied to the trees.
fun, huh?
