Question Module under dash?????

I have a 1997 F150 and as some of you know I am swapping out my 4.2 liter v6 to a 2001 5.4 liter v8. Anyway I am in the middle of changing out the wireharness under the dash and there is a box that sits dead center of the dash. Its a Black box about 6 inches long and about 4 inches across. This is whats written on it: It has a big S on it and right below it it has these numbers : f65f-2c018-BA S oo80554 MV
WITH BRAcKET: F65f-2C279-BB

The question is what is this box? Can I just go get a new box that matches up to my new harness? I talked to someone about this and he told me that it should plug up but he was going from a 97 to a 99 and the box stays the same. The harness I have does not plug into it. (Mine is a 2001) So if anyone can give me any advice I would really Appreciate it.

That would be your RABS (rear anti-lock braking system) controller. Can't speak for interchangeability though......

Its is the Rabs controller.

Your right, I found out that I dont need that controller unless I wanted to go from drum brakes to disc brakes in the rear and I am totally happy with my drum brakes in my truck. So basically I just leave it unplugged. Under the hood I am going to mess with the clip that inserts into the Brake Fluid Reservoir. thanks to LightningSC
