PLEASE HELP! Stock trailer wire harness not working

The wire for the taillights, (brown wire) is not working on my stock harness. Anyone have any ideas? All the other wires are good. Any info is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get ready to leave for Mobil 1 World Ford Challenge tomorrow.

Mine did not work on my 97 F150 either. I checked the fuse inside the truck (fuse box) and it was good. My running lights worked on the trailer but the turn signals or brake lights did not. Turned out it was a blown fuse out under the hood...there are a couple out there. Check your owners manual and it will tell you the number and location.

How do you know the wires are good?

Well I couldn't figure ou the wire, so i spliced off of the liscnese plate light since it was right there. This will have to hold until I get back and have time to look for the problem. Thanks for the reply.

There is a very small fuse box in your engine bay, covered with one piece of electrical tape, in the corner closest to the driver. There are about 4 or 5 mini fuses in there. I GUARANTEE one of those fuses is blown (20 amp if I remember correctly). I had an identical problem with my '98. This fuse box is not covered in the owner's manual, I learned the fix on this website. Goodluck.
