Please help

I know this is not truck related but it is Ford.

I have an old 90 Lincoln Continental with the digital dash. Today it wouldn't go on when you first start it up but would after a half of minute or so. Each time the delay got longer until it threw out an error code.

The code was "Check DCL"

A quick call to the dealer revealed that it is probably the display itself failing. It also turns out that the part has been discontinued and very expensive if you do find it.

Does anyone have any knowledge or advise on this??

It looks like it may be the end of the car. It only has 63K miles on it but is developing other age related problems.
