for those who have installed new halogen headlights

i installed new halogen super bleu headlights on my f150 tonite and i may have made a "booboo" the lights work fine, but when i was detaching the stock bulb from the wire connector, i broke the two THIN clips that clip around the plastic point on the base of the bulb..... the connector still snaps into the bulb though, but the two clips that snapped around the plastic point have broken off... the sad thing is that i didnt use hardly any pressure to raise the clips, they just bent and broke.... any of u know what im talking about or do i need to explain a lil better..... and is this a problem????

Happened to me, had never been a problem. I lost both on one side and one on the other about a year and a half ago. They stay plugged in just fine.

I can relate

Happened to me too when I put my HID superwhites in. Have not experienced any problems. I think they are just cheap plastic and get very brittle after awhile.

I had one of my headlights go out. I went to the dealer to have the bulb replaced under warranty and they broke the clips on the passanger side. They ended up replacing the socket holder under warranty as well. They said that it could allow moisture to develop inside and reduce the life of the bulbs. Don't really know if there is any truth to this or not, I would find it hard to believe that the dealer would want to do warranty work just for the fun of it.

Yep, cheap crap. Welcome to the club..

I just used my rotary tool to sand it down and make it even on both sides.
