Unhappy electrical connectors

I am putting a service body on a 99 superduty and bought an adapter plug that allows me to plug into the ford tailight plug and then into the service body plug for the tailights to work. Problem is that it is evidently wired wrong because when I turn on the left turning signal, the right one works, vise versa....... There is a factory ford looking plug in on one end of this little pig tale and a black 4-pronged rubber plug on the other. My question is ......is there any way to get those prongs out of the black rubber plug-in end to "flip" the 2 turning signal wires without destroying then? A special tool or something? I hate to cut the wires and splice them if I can figure out a way to pull out those 2 terminals and flip them. Anybody even know what I'm talking about????

I know this is a longshot..........

Thanks!

I do not know exactly what plug you are talking about, can you get a picture posted and maybe I could take a guess. Is the plug a molded rubber plug (similar to a 4 pin trailer lighting plug)? If so, chances are you will not be able to remove the pins. If you can wiggle the wires on the back and see the pin move, there is a good chance the pins can be removed. Problem with guessing without seeing the plug is there are some that are front release and some that are rear release, and most require special tools to release the pins. Possibly take it to a car stereo installation shop or maybe the dealer and see if they have something that will work.
Good luck,
Jeff

Longbox,

There's nothing wrong with splicing if it's done "properly". But having said that I know what you mean. One solution is to make a short cable with the two wires swapped and insert it between the factory and service body connection.

Good Luck... XLT_D
