Question Drl

I am a new member of this list and also a new owner of a 2002 SuperCrew. I tried to search the archives but the search engine is down. I would like to activate the DRLs on my truck and have checked out two Web sites for directions.

http://www.users.voicenet.com/~storm/drl/

http://www.geocities.com/skyjet1/DRL.html

Both sites are excellent and give very easy to follow directions(Thanks guys) but one is for a 1999 model and the other for a 2001 model. Also, the part number for the needed resistor is different on the two models although the part number for the resistor is the same on both.

Does anyone know if the modification can be made on my 2002 model and does anyone know if the part numbers have changed from the 2001 model? Thanks for any help

The part #'s are the same for 2001 and 2002. Your Ford dealer has a complete DRL kit with all parts for the lights.

DRL's

I just installed DRL'S on my 2001 Supercrew and it was very easy. The Relay goes under the oval access on the Right side of the Dash. The resistor goes behind the front bumper on the left side, use a 1/4" x 1" SS bolt and a nylon insert SS nut. It is easier to put the Bolt on the right side of the Resistor, Tab on left. The part #YL1Z-13B218-AA "WIR ASY-HD/LP (RELAY) and #1L3Z-14A601-AB "CNTR & BRKT AS" (RESISTOR) The dealers here couldn't get me the right parts so I got them from Atascadero Ford 1-805-466-9464. Also try this Site http://www.geocities.com/skyjet1/DRL.html It has the Ford parts site too.
