Question Turn Signal Mirrors

Has anyone replaced their non- signal mirrors with the ones that have the signals built in behind the glass? Are these a direct swap with necessary plugs already in door or does it take additional wiring?

Yes,

Ok, You have on 01' xlt. So you do have the wiring, right up to the plug for the power mirrors in the door. So yes, its a direct swap of the mirror, and routing the wires through the sail, and incorperating them into the plug...very easy. First side you do will take you a good hour, second side, at least half of that.

I did this mirror signal change on a 2000 Expedition without the plug and it was a good 6 hours of work. Part of the time increase was taking the upper window trim off and relacing this trim. Part of the time was spent figuring out the wiring colors that the instructions stated you should use but were not in the harness.
